Job Description
Nova Fire Protection is seeking a new entry-level CAD designer to join our design team.
Major responsibilities include:

Use AutoCAD to design fire sprinkler systems for residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

Coordinate system designs with other mechanical trades.

Conduct field surveys

Create hydraulic calculations for selecting pipe sizes and pump requirements.

Furnish material lists for fabrication.

Confer with architect’s, engineers, and building department officials to ensure code compliance.

Assemble submittal packages for permit review and approval.

Maintain communication with purchasing manager, field installers, project manager and general contractor throughout construction.
Requirements
-
Minimum of 2-years experience in a professional work environment

Proficient with AutoCAD.

Strong computer skills

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to read and interpret construction plans

Degree or certification in engineering/CAD design/architecture or related field

Prior experience managing multiple projects, setting own deadlines, and meeting goals
-
Ability to conduct field visits at construction sites.
